Every rug begins long before it reaches the home. It begins with carefully selected fibres, skilled hands and techniques passed through generations of artisans.
From hand-spinning premium wool and natural jute fibres to traditional weaving and finishing methods, every stage of the process requires patience, precision and an appreciation for craftsmanship. Variations in texture, shading and finish are not imperfections; they are part of the story – a reflection of the handmade nature of each piece.
Many of our collections are created using artisanal methods that cannot be rushed. Hand-knotting, handweaving, braiding and loom techniques require time and expertise, with some rugs taking days or weeks to complete.

Hand Carding
Every rug begins with carefully hand-carded wool. Skilled artisans gently comb the fibres to align them before spinning, preserving their natural softness, strength, and texture.
Hand Spinning
Natural fibres are hand-spun into beautifully textured yarn using traditional techniques. Subtle variations in thickness create the distinctive character and authentic beauty found only in handcrafted rugs.
Dyeing
Master dye artisans meticulously blend and refine pigments to create rich, lasting colours. This careful process takes time, ensuring every shade is balanced with exceptional depth and consistency.
Natural Drying
Freshly dyed yarns are laid out to dry naturally, allowing the colours to set evenly while preserving the integrity, softness, and quality of every fibre.
Yarn Sorting & Spooling
Before weaving begins, each yarn is carefully sorted by colour and quality, then wound onto spools. This preparation ensures a smooth weaving process and precise colour placement throughout the rug.
Hand Weaving
Working in perfect harmony, skilled weavers knot each strand around the warp threads using traditional methods. Every knot contributes to the rug’s durability, intricate detail, and enduring beauty.
Washing & Drying
Each rug is carefully hand-washed and gently pressed with traditional wooden paddles to enhance the texture and settle the fibres. It is then naturally dried to preserve its softness, colour, and craftsmanship.
Hand Finishing
The final stage is completed entirely by hand. Skilled artisans carefully trim the pile to achieve a refined finish, even the surface by clipping any variations, and neatly bind the edges with complementary yarn. Every rug is meticulously inspected to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality.
